The guide

From the runway
to your hotel’s jetty.

First: where is your hotel?

There are no cars in Venice’s historic centre: by road you can go as far as Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto, and from there you continue on the water. The best way to arrive depends on where your hotel is: between Rialto and St Mark’s, on the Grand Canal or on an island such as the Lido, Murano or Giudecca.

Private water taxi: the most comfortable way

The water taxi leaves from the airport jetty and takes you to the jetty closest to your hotel, usually in about half an hour, with your luggage and no changes. It is the ideal choice after a flight, with heavy suitcases, with children or for an evening arrival. Elite Private Transfer arranges the water taxi on request with a trusted partner operator, with the price confirmed before you book.

Car and water taxi, coordinated

If you are arriving from Treviso Airport or the mainland, we drive you in our Mercedes-Benz V-Class to Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto, where the water taxi is waiting for the final stretch. Linked timings, one contact and one quote for the whole journey.

Hotels on the mainland, in Jesolo or on the coast

If you are staying in Mestre, Jesolo or along the Cavallino coast, a car transfer takes you straight to your hotel’s door. From Jesolo and Cavallino-Treporti you can also reach Venice by water: we drive you to Punta Sabbioni and a water taxi takes you on towards St Mark’s.

After Venice, the mountains

Heading on to Cortina or the Dolomites? We coordinate the water taxi from your hotel to Piazzale Roma and the car transfer to the mountains, in a single quote.

Luggage tips

In the historic centre every stretch on foot means bridges and steps. With a water taxi you arrive at the jetty nearest your hotel: send us your hotel’s name and address, the number of passengers and your luggage, and we will arrange the right transfer.
