From Treviso Airport times are similar and, for many resorts, slightly shorter.
Which airport to choose
Venice Marco Polo has more international connections, while Treviso is served mainly by low-cost airlines. Both work well for the Dolomites: choose the flight that suits your schedule and budget, as the difference in driving time is small.
Why a private transfer to the mountains
Many Dolomites resorts are three hours or more from the airport, and accommodation is often in small villages or outside the centre. With a private transfer you leave as soon as you land and arrive straight at your hotel or chalet, with skis and luggage already loaded, no changes and no timetables.
With Elite Private Transfer your flight is monitored and 60 minutes of waiting from actual landing are included; our Mercedes-Benz V-Class carries up to 7 passengers and 10 suitcases and travels with the winter equipment required on mountain roads. The price per vehicle is confirmed in writing before you book.
Tips for a winter arrival
- Saturdays: many hotels and apartments change guests on Saturdays; if you can, arrive on another day or early in the morning.
- Snow: journeys take longer in snow; we give you a realistic estimate for your date and set off with a sensible margin.
- Skis and luggage: skis, snowboards and boots take up space, so mention them in your enquiry.
- Your return: leave plenty of time for your flight home, allowing for snow and traffic.

Which is the best airport for the Dolomites?
For Cortina and much of the Dolomites in the Veneto and Trentino, Venice Marco Polo and Treviso are among the most convenient, with similar journey times. For some areas of western South Tyrol and Trentino, Verona can also be worth considering.
How long does it take from Venice to Val Gardena?
Around 3 to 3½ hours without stops, for about 200–250 km depending on the village: Ortisei, Santa Cristina or Selva.
How long does it take from Venice to Alta Badia?
Around 3 hours without stops, for about 170–190 km to Corvara, La Villa or San Cassiano.
Should I avoid arriving on a Saturday?
In high season, Saturday is changeover day for many properties and traffic increases. If you can, choose another day or set off early; either way, allow extra time.
Can we stop on the way during the transfer?
Yes, a short stop along the route can be arranged when you request your quote.
